- Choose the photos you're going to edit.
- If you're out taking thousands of photos, i doubt you want to go through and edit all of them. Editing all of the photos would take hours and hours to do and that's just going to get boring so choose like a top ten photos, the best of the best to edit
- The basics mean the exposure, colors, and cropping. ( Brightness, contrast, saturation, temperature )
- Cropping the photo. Cutting off unwanted things, framing it if so desired.
- Rotate the picture. Sometimes the camera is just too heavy or something and you hold it a bit lop-sided, this is your chance to fix it. Adjust the exposure of the photo. Basically if auto-adjust isn't enough play with it until you like it.
- Adjust the photos color. Sometimes the auto adjust decides that a really warm photo needs to be cold and turns it blue, if there's a lot of warm colors in it just make the temperature warm or vice versa.
- Sharpen the image. A lot of photos don't need it but if the lights nice and natural then you can always sharpen it a little.
- The big "Auto adjust" On top tries to do everything in one click, i'd try this before anything and if i don't like it, i'll just undo it.
- Removing red eyes, covering up blemishes, whiten teeth. This is better for close ups but a bit of touching up never hurt.
- Don't use too many effects, too many can cause the photo to look horrible. If you're printing the photo to be displayed in your house then go easy on this part, if it's for online like Facebook or Instagram then you can use a bit more.
- This isn't always necessary but can add a bit to a photo. Not exactly for reserving family photos and such but it's all about opinion.
